Tao is like a drawn bow:
The ends approach,
The height shortens,
The narrowness widens.
Excess is reduced;
Need is fulfilled.
Men are not like this,
They want more and more:
More excess and more need.
Who is rich enough to share with all the world?
Who draws from the common source.
Smart men look no further than this source
For all support, for all reward.
This common source, that all men may draw from.
